Two questions shaped July's updates: is every child accounted for this morning, and does your paperwork match what your state actually asks for? Both are the kind of thing that only becomes urgent at the worst possible moment, so we built for them ahead of time.

Safe Arrival

A child who was expected but never arrived is one of the hardest gaps to notice, because nothing happens. There's no alert, no missing record, just an empty spot that looks like any other quiet morning.

Safe Arrival closes that gap. On weekday mornings, KidzLog checks that every actively enrolled child is checked in, checked out, or marked absent by your drop-off deadline, which is your check-in window plus whatever grace period you've set. Any child still unaccounted for triggers an email to owners and admins, followed by up to four reminders fifteen minutes apart. If the child is still unaccounted for after that, KidzLog marks them absent so your records stay accurate and the day's numbers hold up.

You can also have parents notified when their child hasn't been accounted for, which turns a staff-side check into a two-way one. That part is optional, and Safe Arrival itself is off until you switch it on from your attendance settings.

Incident Reports in Your State's Own Words

An incident report that's well organized but worded differently from the form your licensor expects still means transcribing it by hand.

Incident reports now resolve from the form your state actually requires. Centers in New Jersey file the two Office of Licensing forms, Accident/Injury and Unusual Incident, with the state's own wording and section order, and KidzLog picks the right one based on what happened. Centers without an applicable state form file a standard incident report, exactly as before.

Underneath that, incident details are now captured as structured fields rather than free text: where it happened, which body parts were injured, who was contacted, and what emergency response followed, each with an "Other" option so you're never forced into a category that doesn't fit. Exported reports print with real pagination, so a long report comes out as a clean multi-page document instead of a squeezed single page.

New Features

Saved Signatures

Draw or type your signature once, save it to your profile, and reuse it anywhere a sign-off is needed. Full details are in the saved signatures announcement.

Improved Setup

Getting a new center running is clearer now. A welcome walkthrough introduces the essentials, a setup checklist tracks your progress through them, and a setup guide stays available from your account menu once you've closed it. New centers start with sample data so nothing looks empty while you explore, and you can clear it in one step whenever you're ready to work with real records.

Birthday Reminders

Staff now get a weekly email listing the birthdays coming up, so no child's birthday catches the room off guard. Each person can turn it on or off in their own notification preferences.

Improvements and Fixes

• Kiosk settings now save correctly: Kiosk mode and grace period settings stayed on the screen but didn't persist. They do now.
• Re-invite a removed team member: Removing someone from your team no longer blocks inviting them back later.
• Accurate enrollment counts: Archived children were still counted toward your not-enrolled totals. They're excluded now.
