Show Program Fees in Your Local Currency, Not Just USD or CAD
If you run a daycare outside the US or Canada, you've probably had this moment. You open the fees list for your infant program, and KidzLog shows C$ next to numbers you charge parents in pounds, euros, or shillings. The currency is wrong, and there's no way to fix it.
That changes today. KidzLog now lets you show program fees and invoices in any world currency, not just US or Canadian dollars.

A British preschool can set GBP. A French daycare EUR. A childcare centre in Nairobi KES. Whatever parents actually pay you in, that's what they see.
How to change it
Open Settings from the sidebar, stay on the Center tab, and scroll past Timezone to the new Display currency dropdown.

Popular currencies sit at the top — USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD. The rest are listed alphabetically below. You can also type to search ("euro", "shilling", "peso"). Pick your currency and the change saves automatically. Symbols on fee inputs update right away. Invoices and fee lists refresh the next time you open them.
If your center already has fees or invoices, KidzLog will ask you to confirm before switching. The amounts don't change — a 50.00 fee stays 50.00 in the new currency — but the symbol does, and that's worth a heads-up.
What didn't change: your KidzLog subscription
One important clarification, because it's the first question we expect. Your KidzLog subscription bill from us is separate from what you charge parents. Your subscription stays in USD or CAD — whichever you picked at signup — no matter what display currency you choose.
So: changing your display currency to GBP affects what your parents see on their invoices. It does not change what we charge you. Two different transactions, two different currencies, and now you can set each one independently.
The small print
KidzLog doesn't convert amounts. If you set up a fee as 50 and then switch your display currency, it stays 50 — just with a new symbol. Proper per-invoice currency locking, where each issued invoice remembers its original currency forever, the way QuickBooks and Xero handle it, is on the roadmap alongside our upcoming parent payment processing work. If getting the money side right is a priority for you, we've written about the financial pitfalls that trip up most childcare centers.
New centers get a smart default based on where they sign up from. Create a center in the United Kingdom and KidzLog starts you on GBP. France gets EUR. Kenya gets KES. The US stays USD. You can always change it afterward.
Why this matters
We built KidzLog in Canada, which is why the early product had Canadian assumptions baked in. Those assumptions don't serve a centre director in Manchester or Melbourne any more than a $ symbol serves someone who bills in Swiss francs. Fixing this is small on its own, but it's part of a pattern: we want KidzLog to feel native wherever you run your centre.
If you've been putting off recommending KidzLog to a colleague abroad because the fees looked wrong, this is your moment. The currency setting lives right under Timezone, and it takes less than a minute to change. For a broader tour of KidzLog's operations features, see child information management.
