February 2026 Product Updates: Roll Call, Attendance Upgrades & More

February was a big month for KidzLog. From a brand new roll call feature to a completely revamped attendance experience, here's everything we've been working on.

Roll Call — Safety Headcount Verification

This is one we're especially excited about. You can now run roll calls directly from any classroom or attendance page — perfect for fire drills, outdoor transitions, or anytime you need a quick headcount.

Start a roll call, verify each child individually or tap Mark All Present to confirm everyone at once. When you're done, export results as CSV or PDF for your records. A new reports section tracks your roll call history and analytics, making it easy to stay on top of safety compliance.

Attendance Upgrades

Attendance tracking got a major overhaul this month.

Unclosed check-in alerts now appear on your dashboard and attendance pages, so forgotten checkouts don't slip through the cracks. You'll also see a live "Currently Here" count right on your dashboard — a quick glance to know exactly how many children are on-site.

New auto-close settings let you configure what happens with forgotten checkouts at the end of the day. And if you need to close out a batch manually, there's a new modal for that too.

Attendance notes are now visible across admin, teacher, and kiosk views — so the whole team stays in the loop.

Enrollment Redesign

The enrollment experience has been redesigned from the ground up. You can now filter between Enrolled and Active children with new status badges that make it easy to see where each child stands.

Dashboard KPIs give you a quick snapshot of your enrollment numbers, and a new "Not Enrolled" segment helps you spot children who still need placement. We've also added support for optional end dates when creating enrollments, and the detail page has been refreshed with a cleaner action-oriented layout.

Simplified Workspace

Every center is different. Some use every feature KidzLog offers, others only need the basics. Admins can now hide modules that aren't in use — like Activities or Roll Call — to keep menus clean and the interface focused on what matters to your team.

Safer Deletions

Deleting a program, classroom, or child now shows exactly what will be affected — including linked enrollments that will be automatically cancelled. To prevent accidents, you'll need to type DELETE to confirm. No more worrying about accidentally removing something important.

Parent Add Wizard

Adding or inviting parents used to involve a few different screens depending on the situation. We've replaced that with a single, streamlined wizard that walks you through the process — whether you're creating a PIN-only parent for kiosk check-in or sending an email invitation.

Kiosk Mode for Teachers

Teachers can now access kiosk mode independently with role-aware routing and status indicators. This is especially handy for classrooms where teachers handle their own check-ins and checkouts.

Improvements

  • Search and sort everywhere — All list pages (attendance, parents, programs, classrooms, enrollments, team, announcements, and events) now support search and sort
  • Team member role changes — Change a team member's role directly from their profile
  • Enrolled count and capacity warnings — Classrooms and programs now show enrolled counts with warnings when you're approaching or over capacity
  • Preferred name formatting — Children's preferred names are now displayed consistently throughout the app
